Saint Gregory’s Catholic College

Saint Gregory’s is a high performing, oversubscribed, 11-18 co-educational school of c.950 pupils which was once again rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2013. Our most recent inspection by Clifton Diocese also rated us as an Outstanding Catholic school.

We have a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence balanced by outstanding pastoral care and support which allows our students to flourish and develop as rounded individuals.
We are inspired by the values of the Gospel and conscious of our responsibility to promote the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. As we celebrate 800 years since the signing of the Magna Carta we are conscious of the role of the Church in protecting and promoting those values for a very long time.
In the day to day life of the school, Gospel and British values are evident in the culture of respect and the strong ‘family’ atmosphere which all our visitors comment on and our staff and students value highly. Our values are embedded in what we call the six hallmarks, or defining characteristics, of an education at Saint Gregory’s: spiritual life, vocation, community, respect, aspiration, and global awareness.

Saint Gregory’s has a traditional curriculum with students studying a broad and engaging range of subjects within a caring Christian pastoral setting. Their specialisms in Performing Arts and Science creates a particularly creative and engaging focus for many students as they are allowed to learn how to express themselves through the study of music, drama and dance, whilst the study of science encourages a young person’s natural curiosity and desire to learn.

Saint Gregory’s has a high level of pastoral care with an inclusive atmosphere. Not all of their children are Catholic and they welcome applications from families who share their sense of values and want their children educated in a high-achieving Christian environment.

A varied and dynamic timetable of extra curricular events, classes, and residential trips is available for students to enjoy throughout the year. There is also a wide range of international links with schools in China, Europe and India with opportunities for students to visit these countries and grow in understanding and respect for their cultures. With over 30 clubs or activities each term, the school provide a broad and balanced range of opportunities so that each and every student has an opportunity to shine.

Ss Joseph and Teresa Primary School

“Walking hand in hand with God, as we strive to do our best”

I’m delighted to welcome you to St Joseph and St Teresa Catholic Primary School.

At our school we combine purposeful learning with fun and creativity, where pupils are given opportunities to work together collaboratively and as individuals.  Pupils are expected to give of their best at all times in their learning, behaviour and respect for others.

We are proud of our creative curriculum and our high levels of academic achievement.  Through a wide variety of opportunities, we aim for every child to reach his or her full potential and leave us as confident and caring individuals.

Our School is dedicated to St Joseph and to St Teresa of Avila and works closely with the parish church, situated just across the road from us.  However, we don’t simply offer an education to Catholic children, but a Catholic education, welcoming children of all faiths and beliefs who are ready to embrace our values.

If you are interested in your child joining us, then please call us on 01749 678791 in order to arrange a time to visit or click on our website below.

Noah’s Ark Pre-school

Noah’s Ark began over 25 years ago in the upper rooms of the Presbytery in Chamberlain Street, Wells, which it soon outgrew and was relocated to a self-contained building on the grounds of St. Joseph and St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School where it has thrived ever since.

Noah’s Ark is owned by trustees representing the Catholic Parish of St. Joseph and St. Teresa.  Although we have strong connections with the Catholic Parish, Noah’s Ark welcomes all families from the community and we also work in close partnership with St. Joseph and St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School.

Noah’s Ark Preschool is registered for a maximum of 16 children, per session, aged between 2 years and five years old.  The children are cared for by 4 qualified Early Years Practitioners.

Our team of highly experienced and qualified staff provides a happy, stimulating environment where the children can learn respect for themselves and each other while taking part in a balanced program of exciting activities.

Our opening hours are 8:55 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during term time, with morning, afternoon and all day sessions available.  We offer competitive session fees with funding available.

“Staff have a friendly, welcoming approach, which helps children feel special and valued… They create an exciting and inviting learning environment for children both indoors and outdoors.” ~ Ofsted Report,
